GRO 43-903 Exemption from Membership Qualification Requirement in 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects
On May 29, 2002 the Director of the Saskatchewan Securities Commission made General Ruling/Order 43-903 Exemption from Membership Qualification Requirement in National Instrument 43-101 Standards of Disclosure for Mineral Projects (GRO
43-903").
GRO 43-903 grants an exemption to issuers from the requirement in National Instrument 43-101 that the author of a technical report or other information upon which disclosure of a scientific or technical nature is based be a member in good standing of a professional
association.
GRO 43-903 was granted because the Association of Geoscientists of Ontario ("AGO") was a professional association as defined in National Instrument 43-101 until February 1, 2002. It is being replaced in Ontario by the Association of Professional
Geoscientists of Ontario ("APGO"). The APGO is a professional association as defined in National Instrument 43-101, but has only just begun to accept member applications.
The exemption in GRO 43-903 applies if the author of the technical report:
- is a member of the AGO;
- has applied to become a member of APGO and has not been denied membership; and
- otherwise meets the definition of qualified person in NI 43-101.
GRO 43-903 expires on February 1, 2003.
