Amendments to National Instruments 81-101 Mutual Fund Prospectus Disclosure and 81-101 Mutual Funds come into force on December 31, 2003

The Securities Commission (Adoption of National Instruments) Amendment Regulations, 2003 (No. 6) will come into force on December 31 2003.  The regulations adopt amendments to National Instruments 81-101 Mutual Fund Prospectus Disclosure and 81-101 Mutual Funds.  The purpose of the amendments is to permit "fund of fund" structures where one mutual fund may invest in another mutual fund and actively manage its investments in the other mutual fund.

The Commission regulations also make consequential amendments to the following national and multilateral instruments that are necessary to implemented National Instrument 51-101 Disclosure of Oil and Gas Activities:

  • National Instrument 13-101 SEDAR

  • National Instrument 44-101 Short Form Prospectus Distributions;

  • National Instrument 45-101 Rights Offerings; and

  • Multilateral Instrument 45-102 Resale of Securities.
