Non-Resident Registrants General Exemption Order Amended
General Ruling/Order 35-901 Non-Resident
Registrants ("GRO 35-901") grants exemptions to dealers
and advisers from the requirement to maintain an business office and books
and records in Saskatchewan.
On November 8, 2001 the Director made the following amendments to GRO
35-901:
- Part 3 grants mutual fund dealers an exemption from the business office
and the books and records requirements on condition, among other things,
that they sell in-house mutual funds. The restriction to selling in-house
mutual funds in Part 3 has been removed. However, the condition that
salespersons are paid salary only and receive no commissions or any
other remuneration still applies.
- The exemptions in Part 4 now applies to all domestic advisers including
securities advisers. The exemptions in Part 4 used to be restricted
to investment counsel and/or portfolio managers.
